How to Use Your Free Printable Christmas Gift Tags
Now that you have your festive tags ready, let’s talk about how to use them to make your gifts extra special. You have two fantastic options for applying these free printable gift tags:
Classic Style: Print and Cut Tags
Print the tags on white cardstock. Then either tape the tags to your presents, or punch a hole and tie the tags with a ribbon or twine. (I love my mini hole punch for gift tags!) This traditional method adds a charming, handmade feel to your gifts.
Hint: for beautifully cut paper tags, use a paper cutter for the rectangle tags, and use a circle punch to cut the well fitted circle quickly and easily. This 2 1/4″ circle punch will fit perfectly, or there’s just enough extra space between labels to use this 2 1/2″ XXL circle punch shown below.
For a farmhouse style wrapping, use buffalo check or plaid wrapping paper and print the tags on thick kraft paper. Or, wrap the presents in brown kraft paper and attach the cardstock tags with baker’s twine and plaid ribbon in black or red.
Effortless Peel and Stick Tags
For a hassle-free approach, print the tags on sticker paper. Simply peel and stick the tags onto your presents for a seamless and professional look. This is a great option if you’re short on time but still want that personalized touch.
To make it even quicker, you can print on the pre-cut Avery labels listed underneath each design.

- Open the file in Adobe PDF (or another PDF reader).
- Select File > Print.
- In the print options window, select Scale and enter the percent you’d like to shrink the tags to.

We recommend printing in color to show the vibrancy of the designs, you can print these on a black and white printer for a grayscale classic look — I mean, everyone still loves It’s a Wonderful Life in black and white!
