Christmas is just days away, and as much fun as we’ve had decorating for Christmas, I’m always just a *little* bit relieved to take it all down and get my house back to its normal level of decorating. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a big-time decorator, but I do like having a few little areas of seasonal decor to swap out, like my mantel or a floating shelf or two. We really like these frames from our herb prints (very solid, real glass, and a great price if you’re doing a bunch for gifts!). Since you’ll be switching the art out regularly, we’d recommend looking for frames with the swivel-type pieces that hold in the contents of the frame (or a spring/tension type setting) versus the bendy metal tabs that can break off after several uses (plus hurt your fingers.)
We’ve shared this set in two sizes before, and a few weeks ago we realized that these designs would be well fitted to reformat to print 12×12 on our new Canon PIXMA TS9521C crafting printer. The TS9521C will print traditional 8.5×11 sizes beautifully as well, but when it comes to wall real estate, hanging a print that is just those few inches larger makes a big difference, so we’ve been having fun experimenting with the borderless 12×12 printing capacity, like we used for the set of 4 kitchen herb prints here.
If you prefer matted art or smaller prints, follow the instructions in the kitchen herb prints posts to scale these down to 8×8 or 6×6 prints instead. So versatile!

On this shelf, we paired a neutral carved wood panel (from Michaels craft store last summer) with the thin black frame and a few colorful accessories for each month. Right now, we’ve got JOY with a few red Christmas ornaments
and we’re looking forward to switching it out for the blue and white Winter Wonderland of snowflakes — well fitted for the blue and white dishes I collect!
Then we LOVE Valentine’s Day with pink flowers:
